2020 California Energy Commission Grant Recipient
In 2020, Zēlos Energy was awarded a competitively-selected multi-year $1.8 million grant from the California Energy Commission (CEC) as part of their Energy Research and Development Division (ERDD). This significant CEC funding, as one of five chosen awardees among over thirty applicants, recognized our zinc-based technology as a promising alternative to lithium-ion batteries, supporting our R&D scale-up efforts to advance safer, more sustainable energy storage solutions. The project validated our approach to addressing the critical safety and supply chain challenges inherent in current battery technologies, and accelerated our path to commercial deployment.
